There was a special meeting of the Flemingsburg City Council Wednesday, May 28^th, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Annex. Mayor Flanery called the meeting to order. Councilman Alexander led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council members present were Ricky Hurst, Marty Voiers, Scott Manning, Meredith Story, and Van Alexander. Councilwoman Georgianna Sparks was absent. Also present were Tom MacDonald, City Attorney, and Joy Roark, City Clerk/Treasurer.

A first reading of Ordinance No. 6-08-2 adopting the annual General Fund Budget for 2008-2009 was presented. Council recommended that motor fuel expense be increased to $5.00/mile, professional fees be increased $500 for training, and $8,000 added to economic development to cover the City’s portion of the EDC Director’s salary and expenses. Councilman Story moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 6-08-2 with the noted recommendations. Councilman Manning seconded the motion. All were in favor.

A first reading of Ordinance No. 6-08-3 adopting the annual Natural Gas, Water, and Waste Water Budget for 2008-2009 was presented. Council recommended that motor fuel expense be increased to $5.00/mile. Councilman Hurst moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 6-08-3 with the noted recommendations. Councilman Voiers seconded the motion. All were in favor.

There being no further business Councilman Manning moved to adjourn. Councilman Alexander seconded the motion. All were in favor.
