The City of Flemingsburg is seeking applications for the position of Police Officer/ School Resource Officer

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A citizen of the United States
  • Not less than twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Possess a valid operator’s license.
  • High School Graduate or have successfully completed a General Education Development (G.E.D.) examination.
  • Never been convicted of a felony.
  • Is not prohibited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm.
  • Discharged under honorable conditions, if having served in the armed services
  • Candidates must be POPS certified or able to obtain such certification through DOCJT/ KLEC within one (1) year of appointment to position.

Retired law enforcement officers who were certified through the Kentucky Peace Officers Professional Standards are encouraged to apply.

Active law enforcement officers with a Kentucky Peace Officers Professional Standards Certification or those who have the ability to obtain recertification within one year of hire are encouraged to apply.
