*Flemingsburg Natural Gas Customers* As oil prices continue to increase, the market price of natural gas does as well and has in fact more than doubled since last year. Due to the extremely high market prices Flemingsburg Utility System has opted not to buy any gas for winter storage, but rather to buy natural gas on a month to month basis as needed in hopes that the market price will eventually drop. Flemingsburg Utility System has no control over the rising cost of natural gas and will have to pass a large portion of the additional expense onto our customers. Current rates have been increased 26% and will be adjusted monthly based on the average purchase price that month. We realize such a dramatic increase will create a hardship for many of our customers and will offer payment plans within the constraints of our operating budget. We encourage our customers to start planning now by winterizing their homes, making sure heating units are operating efficiently, and considering ways to reduce unnecessary usage .

The City of Flemingsburg accepts credit cards - VISA and MASTERCARD only

Utility bills may also be paid by automatic bank draft. Customers receive a bill the first of the month. The amount due is deducted from the customers bank account on the 15th. To sign up for this service stop by our office at 140 W. Electric Avenue.

Flemingsburg Utilities offers a budget plan for natural gas customers. The budget plan begins each year in July. Customers must be on service for at least one year to be eligible.

To obtain utility services customers must complete and sign an application for service, provide proof of identity, and pay the required deposit(s). Currently the deposit for water service is $30.00; the deposit for gas is $170.00. Deposits are returned with interest to the customer after a period of two years (or when they move off service if less than two years,) provided their account is in good standing..

For a new service site the following connection fees apply:

Inside City:

Water Connections - $300.00

Gas Connections - $300.00

Sewer Connections - $300.00

Outside City:

Water Connections - $450.00

Gas Connections - $450.00

Sewer Connections - $500.00

Utility bills are due by the 15th of the month. Any account not paid by that date is delinquent and assessed a 10% penalty. Services will be terminated for accounts not paid prior to the cut-off date stated on the bill. For services to be restored, customers must pay their utility bill in full and a service reactivation fee of $25.00.

If there is an after-hours gas, water, or sewer emergency, call the Dispatch Center at (606) 845-2121.
